Firstly, Night Mail, is a 1936 documentary film about a London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) mail train from London to Scotland, produced by the GPO Film Unit. The film ends with a “verse commentary” by W. H. Auden, written for existing footage. Benjamin Britten scored the film.
Secondly, Terminus is a 1961 British Transport Film documentary (filmed in August, 1960) directed by John Schlesinger which presents a “fly-on-the-wall” look at an ordinary day at Waterloo station in London. Original music was by Ron Grainer.
Representatives of Kettering Civic Society visited the club to liaise with club members about their plans for a Celebration the Opening of Kettering Railway Station some 160 years ago, on Sunday, 14th May 2017.
